Types of MAZDA SUVs

You can find many different Mazda SUVs at our dealership, but which one is right for you? One way to narrow down your choices is to look at SUVs by their type, which is defined by the vehicle’s size and construction. That’s why the team at North Penn Mazda created this guide detailing each SUV type and what options are available.
Crossover SUVs
A crossover SUV, or Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV), combines the cargo and passenger space of an SUV with the handling and fuel economy of a car – hence the name “crossover”. It’s a great middle option for drivers who are used to driving sedans but who need more room for people or cargo. Current Mazda crossover options include the Mazda CX-30, Mazda CX-5, and Mazda CX-50; these models reach up to 56.3 cubic feet of cargo space and 41.7 inches of front legroom.
Mid-Size SUVs
A mid-size SUV features similar handling and performance specs to a crossover, but with additional space and length. Typically, you’ll notice a larger cargo area and longer hood, increasing your vehicle’s overall size both inside and out. The Mazda CX-70, available as both a regular and plug-in hybrid model, is one such model. It has 141.6 cubic feet of passenger space across two seating rows.
Full-Size SUVs
For the most space, you’ll want to drive a full-size SUV. These are the largest models on the market, usually with three rows of seating and bountiful cargo space. Mazda drivers love the full-size Mazda CX-90, which features seats for up to eight people (specifically, the same 141.6 cubic feet of passenger space as the Mazda CX-70) and a maximum cargo volume of 75.2 cubic feet.
