Three Things to Do After Buying a MAZDA SUV

Buying a new Mazda SUV is exciting, but several responsibilities come with it. As a new car owner, you must keep on top of your car buying checklist even after signing the paperwork and receiving the keys. The North Penn Mazda team has compiled this list of three things you need to do after buying a Mazda SUV.
Get Car Insurance
The first thing to do is ensure your insurance policy is adequate for your new car. You’re taking on payments, so it’s a good idea to have collision in addition to liability coverage. However, we’d also suggest taking it a step further and getting GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection) insurance that covers the “gap” between your car’s depreciated value and its insured value.
File Your Paperwork
When you buy a vehicle from our dealership, we’ll sign the title over to you and help you process it with the Pennsylvania DMV. This will ensure that you legally own the car. Another piece of paperwork you need to file is the registration. You’ll need to do this within 30 days of purchasing the vehicle. In the meantime, our dealership will provide you with temporary plates so you can drive off the lot.
Maintenance and Inspection
By law, you must have a Mazda SUV inspected by a Pennsylvania DMV-certified inspection station within ten days of purchase. The state mandates this to ensure that the car complies with emissions regulations. You’ll also want to consult your owner’s manual and check the maintenance schedule, as they will tell you when you should bring the car in for your first routine service visit.
