How Do I Check My Vehicle’s Fluids?

One step to maintaining your vehicle’s health is regularly performing a full fluid level check. You need to check all the fluid levels in your Mazda vehicle and replace the supply as needed to keep it running smoothly. If you don’t know how to check your fluids, North Penn Mazda has the information you need.
Oil
Checking your oil level requires opening the oil tank cap and inserting your dipstick as far down as it will go. Then, remove the dipstick and check the level by referencing the markers on the stick. If it’s below the recommended level, you’ll want to put some oil in the tank.
Brake Fluid
The brake fluid tank is located in the back of the engine compartment, typically on the driver’s side. This tank will have level markings on the side so you can easily determine if you have enough fluid in it.
Coolant
You can also check the coolant levels easily via upper and lower level markings on the side of the tank. You’ll find the tank near the engine, typically mounted by the radiator. If it’s running low, fill it back up to the recommended levels.
Power Steering Fluid
Need to fill up your power steering fluid tank? A bottle-shaped tank will be positioned on the side of your engine compartment, with minimum and maximum level markers on it.
Windshield Wiper Fluid
A blue cap with a windshield wiper icon notes your windshield wiper fluid tank. You can tell if this level is low if you don’t see any wiper fluid in the top of the tank.
