The 2025 Mazda CX-70 has numerous impressive features and specs for drivers to consider. But how does this model stack up to other SUVs like the Toyota Highlander? North Penn Mazda has assembled this guide to the 2025 Mazda CX-70 and how it compares to this Toyota model.

Power and Performance

The 2025 Mazda CX-70 offers a choice of mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, while the Toyota Highlander features the choice of a conventional engine or standard hybrid setup. The Mazda models offer better output (up to 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, with the standard 3.3-liter e-SKYACTIV®-G inline-six turbo engine) and EPA-estimated 26-mile all-electric range.* The Toyota Highlander delivers up to 265 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, and its hybrid cannot travel appreciable distances solely on electricity.

Standard Screen Space

The 2025 Mazda CX-70 features a standard 12.3-inch center screen perfect for accessing your favorite applications. With a full-color display and standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ support, drivers can easily connect to their most-used services. A 12.3-inch screen is also available on the Toyota Highlander, but it is not standard across all trims.

Cargo Space

While the Toyota Highlander does feature more overall cargo space thanks to its three-row seating design, the 2025 Mazda CX-70 still holds its own. It features up to 39.6 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seating rows up, letting you store larger items with ease. You may have to leave some things (or somebody) behind with the Toyota Highlander, since it only features 16 cubic feet of space behind the third row.
