The 2026 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid boasts a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine that generates a net 219 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque. All trims feature standard electronic all-wheel drive, maximizing traction on slick surfaces with finely tuned electronic sensors.

Compared to a hybrid vehicle, a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) features a larger electric battery and an electric motor to provide dedicated electric power. When it comes to the 2026 Mazda CX-90 PHEV, for example, the standard e-Skyactiv®-PHEV powertrain gets 323 net horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque via its 2.5-liter engine and an electric motor. PHEVs allow you to drive on electric power alone — up to 26 miles on the Mazda CX-90.
