Engines

Whereas the Mazda CX-5 has two energetic engines in its lineup, the Hyundai Tucson only has one. The Mazda SUV’s base powerplant is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. Mazda SUVs with “Turbo” in their names upgrade to a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine for power. Output from the latter engine is 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque with regular gas or 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque with premium fuel.

A naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four engine motivates the Hyundai Tucson. The Hyundai SUV’s engine generates 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. While this matches the base engine of the Mazda CX-5 in horsepower, it delivers slightly less torque, and there are no available upgrades that match the Mazda model’s turbocharged option.

Drivetrain

Since the 2022 production year, this feature has been standard across every Mazda CX-5 trim.
